Gloria Taylor is a singer-songwriter-musician with a lot to sing about. A California yogi and indie folk-rocker with her head in the stars, she’ll paint her way into your heart, inviting you to feel a whole lot better for stopping by.

Born and raised in Wilmette, a northwest suburb of Chicago, she’s been singing and writing since she was 12. The youngest of four, she grew up harmonizing with The Beatles and fell in love with ’70s/’80s folk-rock, including Joni Mitchell, CSNY, Paul Simon, Carol King, Richard and Linda Thompson, The Beach Boys and others.

Her latest album, “Go For The Moon,” distills her heavy-melody, high-harmony style into 11 folk-rock gems. Her distinct melodic style, and beautifully layered harmonies, lie perfectly on top of sweeping guitars, mandolins, keyboards, world drums and much more.  In terms of voice, picture a sweet Norah Jones alto with the soul of Judy Collins, the spirit of Fleetwood Mac and the dynamo harmonies of First Aid Kit.

Gloria has a flair and depth for writing songs that translate her ideas and dreams with ease, as you magically feel yourself getting transported into her world. From her sound healing performances in yoga studios across the San Diego area, along with endless public and private gigs, Gloria has lured thousands of listeners with her brave, reflective and whimsical songs.
